Alex Morgan

Alex Morgan is the editor of Archery Arcade and the author of the guides on this site. Every guide published here is written after playing the games it describes, and every number quoted in one is taken from the game's own source rather than estimated from play.

What Alex writes about

Browser arcade games, and specifically the mechanics underneath them: how projectile physics is tuned for readability rather than realism, why difficulty curves are shaped the way they are, and what separates a scoring system that rewards skill from one that rewards persistence.

The guides on this site fall into two groups. The cornerstone guides explain a system - trajectory, wind, scoring, timing - in enough depth that it transfers between games. The supporting guides answer a single practical question, usually one that came up while playing.

How the guides are researched

Every game is played extensively before it is written about. Where a guide states a specific figure - that gravity is 780 pixels per second squared, that the exposure window in Quick Draw Archer bottoms out at 0.32 seconds, that the precision face has a 25:1 centre-to-edge ratio - that figure comes from the game's source code, not from an impression formed while playing.

Claims about what players typically achieve are described as typical rather than presented as measured statistics, because this site does not collect gameplay data and could not measure them.

A note on credentials

Alex Morgan is the editorial identity behind the writing on Archery Arcade. This page does not claim professional qualifications, industry awards, academic degrees or employment history, because inventing any of those would undermine exactly the trust this page exists to establish.

What is claimed is narrow and verifiable by reading the site: the guides are written by someone who has played every game here, and the technical figures in them match the code that produces them.

Corrections

If something in a guide is wrong, it gets fixed and the last-updated date on that guide changes. Corrections are welcome through the contact page and are treated as bugs rather than opinions.
