About Target Defender
Threat priority
Incoming objects travel at different speeds and start at different distances, so the one that looks closest is frequently not the one that will arrive first. The game draws a faint approach line from each object to the centre; its length relative to the object's speed is the real measure of urgency.
Learning to read time-to-impact rather than distance is the difference between surviving wave four and surviving wave ten.
Arrows travel, so lead the shot
Unlike the click-to-hit games, this one fires real arrows with flight time. Objects are moving toward a known point - the centre - which makes leading them much easier than leading a random target: you can simply aim at a point along their approach line.
Fast movers need a longer lead, and because they also arrive sooner, they demand both your attention and your best estimate at the same time.
Shield and repair
The shield absorbs five impacts. Every completed wave restores one point of it, to a maximum of five, which means a clean wave is worth more than the points it pays.
That repair rule creates a real strategic choice in the later waves: push for score by taking risky long shots, or play conservatively to bank a shield point you will certainly need.
How to play
- Objects approach the central target from all sides.
- Aim ahead of them along their approach line and shoot.
- Every object that reaches the centre costs one shield point.
- Clearing a wave restores one shield point.
- The run ends when the shield is gone.

Scoring
Points are awarded by which band of the target you hit, multiplied by your combo multiplier where the game uses one.
Tips
- Judge threats by time to impact, not by distance on screen.
- Aim along the approach line rather than at the object itself - it is heading somewhere predictable.
- Clear the wave completely when you can. The shield repair is usually worth more than a risky extra shot.
- Fast movers first, always. A slow object at the edge can wait several seconds.
- When two threats will arrive together, take the one further from your cursor first and sweep back.
Common mistakes
- Shooting at whatever is nearest to the centre rather than whatever arrives first.
- Firing directly at a moving object instead of leading it.
- Letting the last object of a wave through and forfeiting the shield repair.
- Panicking when the shield drops to one and firing wildly.
