About Castle Archer
Shooting downhill
You are elevated, which changes the geometry of every shot. Firing flat from a height means the arrow travels further before it lands than your instinct expects, and firing steeply means it arrives almost vertically with very little horizontal margin.
The sweet spot is a shallow arc that peaks just past the wall and comes down on the approaching line. Once you find that draw length, most of the game becomes timing.
Arrow economy
Each wave gives you a fixed quiver - twelve at first, rising slowly - and it does not refill mid-wave. Running dry with targets still advancing means watching the gate take hits you cannot prevent.
Arrows that land on the ground can be recovered by shooting a marker near them, which returns two arrows to the quiver. It is a risky use of a shot when the wave is thick, and a very good one when it is not.
Gate health and wave pacing
The gate has a hundred points of health. Each target that reaches it removes between eight and twenty depending on its size, and there is no repair - the gate you finish wave one with is the gate you take into wave ten.
That makes early waves far more important than they feel. Perfect play in waves one through three is what makes wave eight survivable.
How to play
- Drag back from the archer on the wall to set angle and power.
- Release to loose an arcing shot at the advancing line.
- Targets that reach the gate damage it. At zero, the run ends.
- Your quiver refills between waves, not during them.
- Shoot a ground marker to recover two spent arrows.

Scoring
Points are awarded by which band of the target you hit, multiplied by your combo multiplier where the game uses one.
Tips
- Find one comfortable draw length for the mid-range and use it as your default - adjust angle, not power.
- Shoot the furthest advancing target first; the nearest one is already too close to stop cheaply.
- Recover arrows early in a wave, never late. Mid-wave you cannot spare the shot.
- Big targets do the most gate damage but move slowest. They are the ones to plan for, not react to.
- Protect the gate above all. Score is worthless if the run ends at wave four.
Common mistakes
- Firing flat from height and sailing arrows past the whole line.
- Running the quiver dry halfway through a wave.
- Letting small fast targets through because you were tracking a large slow one.
- Treating the gate as a life bar that will refill - it never does.
