About Wind Archer
How the wind actually works
Wind is applied as a constant horizontal acceleration for as long as the arrow is in the air. That has an important consequence: the effect is not proportional to wind strength alone, it is proportional to wind strength multiplied by flight time squared.
In practice this means a light wind on a long, floaty shot can push the arrow further off line than a strong wind on a fast, flat one. If you want to fight the wind, shoot harder and flatter - the arrow spends less time exposed to it.
Reading the meter
The bar above the range fills left or right from the centre. Green is light, amber is moderate, red is strong, and the number beside it is an arcade figure rather than a real world measurement - what matters is the ratio between readings, not the unit.
A full red bar needs roughly a target width and a half of aim-off at mid range. A green reading at the same distance needs perhaps a quarter of a target width. Those two reference points will get you most of the way.
Power is your other lever
Dragging further back gives a faster arrow. A fast arrow drops less and drifts less, which makes a strong draw the obvious answer to strong wind - but it also flattens the arc, so small angle errors matter more.
The nicest shots in this game come from matching the two: a light wind and a soft, arcing draw is a much more forgiving combination than trying to power through every condition.
How to play
- Check the wind meter before you draw.
- Press and drag backwards from the archer - the further you pull, the faster the arrow.
- Aim into the wind: if it blows right, aim left of the gold.
- Release to shoot.
- You have fifteen arrows, and the wind rerolls after every one.

Scoring
Points are awarded by which band of the target you hit, multiplied by your combo multiplier where the game uses one.
Tips
- Aim into the wind, never with it. If the bar fills to the right, your aim point moves left.
- Shoot harder in strong wind - less flight time means less drift.
- The wind reading is set the moment you start your draw and does not change mid-shot.
- If an arrow lands wide, note by how much and apply that same correction next time the meter reads the same.
- A calm reading is a gift. Use it to bank an easy centre hit and protect your combo.
Common mistakes
- Aiming downwind, which doubles the error instead of cancelling it.
- Using the same soft draw in every condition.
- Overcorrecting after one wide arrow rather than adjusting proportionally.
- Forgetting to look at the meter at all, which is by far the most common way to waste an arrow here.
